10/18 & 10/19 – Study for “Vindication of a Woman” quiz. First quiz of the new quarter.
10/10 – 10/14 – IF NEEDED finish your essay. MUST turn in by Friday. Next class is the Collection Unit 2 TEST (this is on the standards). MUST make-up at lunch or after school if missed. Must make up all missed quizzes by Friday. FRIDAY is the end of the quarter and grades are due in to the district on Monday. NO School on Wednesday. No students at school on Monday.

9/30 & 10/3 – Rough Draft due on 10/4 (Black) and 10/5 (Gold) & Quiz on “Vindication of a Woman.” LAST CALL FOR PAGE 120 AT QUESTIONS.
9/28 & 9/29 – DO rough draft of your essay from Performance book. Due Oct 5th (Gold) or Oct 4th (Black).
9/26 & 9/27 – FINISH Close Reader. “Pardoner’s Tale” QUIZ and collection moved to NEXT CLASS. BOTH MAJOR GRADES.
9/21-9/22 – WHEN finished in class, complete the “Pardoner’s Tale” Close Reader. Will turn in and have a QUIZ on the story the next class – major grades.
9/19 & 9/20 – Nothing new
9/14 & 9/15 – Write your own “advice”to youths or to some other group. Use Twain’s device of sounding completely serious while in fact mocking your subject. Keep it school appropriate. Min. of 100 words.
9/13 – Nothing New
9/9 & 9/12 – Finish questions for “Advice to Youth” if started. READ the story if your class did not get to it, and we will re-read and do the questions next class. PDF or story in Materials.
9/7 & 9/8 – Look at literary devices. Click on the ones you do not know and read. Make a list of ten that you were not familiar with to bring to class.
9/2 & 9/6 – None
8/31 & 9/1 – Watch 6 minute youtube on explanation of the story.
8/29 & 8/30 – Reflection – Compare this story to another story or essay on the topic of marriage, insanity, or women’s experiences. How does each author construct a tale about the topic? How do themes, settings and characters interact? Minimum of 200 words.
8/25 & 8/26 – Consider the events of the story from the viewpoint of John. Write a summary of the story from his viewpoint. Minimum of 200 words.
8/23 & 8/24 – Reread The Yellow Wallpaper & BRING IN YOUR PORTFOLIO.
