11/9 & 11/10Theme analysis essay due NEXT CLASS (MOVED).  Remember to look at other sources, and to limit you discussion to no more than three poems in your category.  Literary terms must be used…and used correctly.  You can write the prompt to clarify the intent for the reader, or just make sure there is a thesis clear is enough for the reader to identify the aim points.

11/7 & 11/8 – The analysis moved to first class NEXT week.  Also, look at the PPT for “The Jaguar” and three articles and PPT for “Wind.”

11/3 & 11/4 – Work on Theme Analysis (due 11/14 & 1/15).  From Poetry site, reread “Thrushes” and read  both analysis on it.  From Poetry site, reread “Snowdrop” and read  the analysis on it.  .

11/1 & 11/2 – Finish PPT of selected poem.  Email as an attachment, or have on a flash drive by next class.

10/28 & 10/31 – Finish PPT by the due date.

10/26 & 10/27 – Work on PPT poem.  Have available on 11/3 (Black) or 11/4 (gold).

10/24 & 10/25 – Finish packet #6 (final packet).  Watch two PPT’s from lesson.  Will have a small quiz next class on the PPT information.

10/20 & 10/21 – Finish packet #5.

10/18 & 10/19 – Finish packet #4.  First grade of new quarter.

10/10 – 10/14 – Nothing new.  Finish all three packets, and make up any quizzes by Friday.  Tuesday starts a new quarter.

STAY SAFE. WHEN WE COME BACK WE WILL FINISH UP. MOST LIKELY, WE WILL STOP WITH THREE (3) PACKETS. WE WILL DO THE REST OF THE POEMS IN THE 2ND QUARTER. YOU MUST HAVE ALL THREE PACKETS IN BEFORE 10/14. RIGHT NOW THAT IS THE END OF THE QUARTER. GRADES MUST BE POSTED ON THE 17TH.

10/4 & 10/53rd Ted Hughes packet – use one of the three “bone picking” methods on three of the poems (MUST USE ALL ONCE). REST can be your choice. Then…pick ONE poem and write a quality poetry analysis (re-watch video if needed). THIS IS TO BE TURNED IN ON FOR A MAJOR GRADE NEXT CLASS

9/30 & 10/32nd Ted Hughes packet – use one of the three “bone picking” methods on three of the poems (MUST USE ALL ONCE). Other three can be your choice. Then…pick ONE poem and write a quality poetry analysis (re-watch video if needed). THIS IS TO BE TURNED IN ON FOR A MAJOR GRADE NEXT CLASS.

 

9/28 & 9/291st Ted Hughes packet – use one of the three “bone picking” methods on three of the poems (MUST USE ALL ONCE). Other three can be your choice. Then…pick ONE poem and write a quality poetry analysis (re-watch video if needed). THIS IS TO BE TURNED IN ON FOR A MAJOR GRADE. START AFTER FINISHING TEST. DUE ON 9/30 (BLACK) OR 10/3 (GOLD).

9/26 & 9/27DO literary analysis of “African Beggar.”   Review and study PPT on Poetic Terms.  Quiz next class.  

9/21 & 9/22 Finish annotation, & TP-CASTT if needed, and do/finish your literary analysis for your poem.  ALL shared and collected NEXT class.  

9/19 & 9/20 – Select another poem, print out, annotate, and do a TP- CASTT on it.  Will share in class.

9/15 & 9/16 – Using the poem you printed out, annotation, SIFT, and paragraph using the SIFT as a guide, but use your own words. WILL share this next class and turn in for a grade.

9/13 & 9/14 -Find and print a short poem to share next class.

9/9 & 9/12Finish work on “Mirror” – annotation, SIFT, & paragraph.

9/7 & 9/8 – Look at literary devices.  Click on the ones you do not know and read.  Make a list of ten that you were not familiar with to bring to class.

9/2 & 9/6 – Finish the essay on your favorite character (may be typed or handwritten) & study for a character and story test next class.

8/31 & 9/1 – Finish Act Three Reflection (if needed).

8/29 & 8/30 – Finish Act Two Reflection (if needed).  Read Act III.

8/25 & 8/26 – Finish Act One Reflection. Read Act II.

8/23 & 8/24 – FINISH READING ACT I OF PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME.
